Hello,
I configured mpd with icecast to play a radio stream on the internet and I wanna make something dynamic like, if the stream goes down ( inet problems / network related issues) mpd should automatically switch to local playlist ( a bunch of mp3's ). Is there a way to do this using mpd.conf file or should I go deeper ( make a script or something ) ? I'm new to this btw.
Thank you.
X.

uhm what?
icecast has nothing to do with playing internet streams with mpd. that part made absolutely no sense at all.
and for your actual question: yes this would have to be scripted.

yes. but then your question itself makes no sense anymore. mpd does not know remote/local playlists at all. it only has exactly ONE playlist.
if the icecast output is enabled, it will be streamed, if not, it wont. thats all

it does not, because i still dont know what you are trying to do.
i can only guess:
load a different set of music, as soon as the icecast output is disabled?
