Pulseaudio choppy in Faster Than light

Hi,

when I start faster than light, the sound sounds choppy/clipped(mmm .. I'm not sure how to say in English, The sound sounds bad, choppy with noise). And pulseaudio uses 20% cpu and plasma-desktop 20 %cpu.

When I close it, plasma desktop consumes 50% for quite some time (30seconds or more)

Killing pulseaudio, the game sounds good.

I also happened to some games under wine, but restarting the game could be heard well, I also sometimes happens with virtualbox, (windows xp)

I tried to touch the configuration files, but nothing:

/etc/pulse/daemon.conf

enable-lfe-remixing = yes

Sounds better but still sounds bad.

/etc/pulse/default.pa

load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0

nothing

Re: Pulseaudio choppy in Faster Than light

It happens to me with VirtualBox only - when VM audio is set to use PulseAudio. And this has been the case since I started using PulseAudio a year ago.

When I tell the VM to use ALSA for audio, it sometimes works perfectly, and sometimes doesn't work at all (sound is just a bunch of noises). When it works, VirtualBox normally appears in `pavucontrol` so it's using PulseAudio behind the scenes anyway, but the sound is perfect.

Try this:

/etc/pulse/daemon.conf
default-fragment-size-msec = 5
