[SOLVED] Backlight folder (/sys/class/backlight) empty, not using GRUB

I've recently installed Arch on my laptop (a macbook pro 5.5), and an important thing I haven't managed to get working is the backlight brightness.

I guess the main problem is that my /sys/class/backlight directory is empty, and thus playing with xbacklight does nothing. I've tried googling, and the main solution that keeps coming up is to add "acpi_backlight=vendor" to the GRUB config, but I'm using UEFI with gummiboot.

Any ideas?

You can still pass kernel parameters using gummiboot...

I figured as much, but I hadn't seen any examples, so wasn't sure. I'll give that a try and see how it works, thanks.

Edit: Installing "nvidiabl" instead of "nvidia-bl" from the AUR in combination with the boot option seems to have given me nvidia_backlight under /sys/class/backlight. This can be marked as solved.
