[Unsolved] Graphics card crashes when X starts with FGLRX

So, i installed linux on my desktop today.
Installation went fine and fast, but this is my first time dealing with the proprietary AMD drivers on arch.
I have two 4850's in crossfire, so i installed catalyst-total-hd234k from the AUR and after some config modification the kernel accepted the module.
So now my kernel successfully loads it but when i startx, it goes black and stays that way.
It doesn't work to change virtual console with CTRL+ALT+Fx, and after reboot the /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old becomes empty so there's no way to debug that

First i used 'aticonfig --initial=dual-head', but switched to 'aticonfig --initial' because i thought my multimonitor setup would have messed it up.
I have tried to execute i3, awesome and xterm.
Been trying to fix this issue for a couple of hours now, but without any success.

I'm not sure where to look for error logs and don't really know what to do, so i guess that maybe you guys have any idea what could be the problem?

Sorry for not being clear.

I have plugged out all of my monitors except for one and did 'aticonfig --initial'

Does running the following (found here) help?

aticonfig --initial --adapter=all

Still stuck on a black screen, but now i got a Xorg log atleast!

That may be helpful. Do you have more than one display adapter?

What's wrong with those lines?
One output for each graphics card, both with two display outputs and only one monitor connected.

My exact setup is:
Two 4850 cards with a crossfire bridge
- One without any screens plugged in
- One with a 1920x1080 connected with a vga cable and a vga-dvi adapter on the graphics card

Since i could not fix this problem, i changed to manjaro instead.

It works fine there, so it must've been something misconfigured by me.

Will mark this thread as undolved.
Any admin can close this thread if they want to
