Re: October 2013 Screenshot thread

@Prezioso: It's an obscure patch I found through a Google search. Given its utility I'm surprised it isn't more popularized (and that the authors themselves didn't think of or list it on the suckless site). Link is here.

Re: October 2013 Screenshot thread

Woo, it's been a long time!
screenshot
(the full screenshot is 1.1M ... this indexed version is 404K, and I think only the video suffered)

I just tried out gala/pantheon, which is why my gtk related bits are set to elementary. This screenshot is Xmonad, with compton to make the thin shadows you see. Terminal font is a slightly patched version of fixed, to use powerline-like symbols. powerline is actually not present in the screenshot. If anybody wants configs, I can update my config repo; just use the email feature on the left and I'll edit this post with a link.

For completeness's sake, a "clean" image would have been a fairly large, pure #eeeeee image wink

dd-wrt has bandwidth usage graphs on its status page, which is a simple svg generated by javascript polling an API endpoint they provide. I opened the svg directly (to get rid of the rest of the page), and then made it into a chrome "application shortcut" to get rid of the rest of the chrome/tab bar/url bar/etc.

Looks awesome! May i ask how you cope with the vimium plugin in combination with youtube? i had to switch from vimium to vimperator/firefox because i was frustrated about so many sites, especially youtube, stealing the focus and going into insert mode right away. Do you simply dont mind or did i miss some settings options?

using stlarch's ohsnap font, only just came across it this week. Liking it so far, what terminal font do you prefer?

rest of my setup is openbox, tint2, pcmanfm, urxvt, tmux namely. then i butcher everyones configs to my liking.

Which GTK(?)-Theme are you using? Looks nice, in case it is GTK, is it GTK2, 3, or both?

Thanks smile I don't use youtube enough to really notice it. Usually the search bar grabs focus, and I just hit escape... as far as videos grabbing focus, that doesn't happen very much. I enabled the HTML5 preview, maybe that's helped? The only things I changed from vimium at least is to remove the site excludes and change the link keys to be more dvorak-y.

Looks really nice. You can check my dotfiles for script using only one dzen bar.

Yes i've had some problems (terminus font error) and hadn't time to look further into it, but definitely want to give it a try.
