gnome 3.10 && gnome flashback

Hi all,

I'm a big fan of gnome-flashback session, it takes me back to a simpler time.

I upgraded to gnome 3.10 today, and I can confirm, as mentioned in this post, https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-f … 00042.html that the mouse cursor no longer appears in gnome-flashback.  I don't know my way around the gnome-settings-daemon well enough to use the workaround.

Looking at the wiki, it sounds like gnome-flashback is going to get dropped  from the official repos soon, anyway.  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GNOME_Flashback

So it sounds like I should start looking for alternatives.  What are other flashback fans doing?  Choosing a different gnome session or going to a different desktop environment?

Thanks!

Hi, the mentioned workaround is to set the key org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/cursor/active to false, for example via dconf-editor. This works for me.

Thanks Wey, that does, in fact, bring the cursor back!

It seems that you like the traditional gnome 2 desktop. So, you could maybe switch to MATE! It's awesome!
