arduino IDE serial issue

Hi,

trying to get the Arduino IDE to work under Arch and there's some things I can't solve when following the wiki.

The 'Serial Board' menu item is greyed out and the serial post is not found, which goes away when I do

# chmod 777 /run/lock

but I can't seem to make this permanent; editing /etc/tmpfiles.d/legacy.conf or /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/legacy.conf don't make a difference.
Did something change in how systemd does these things perhaps ?

Apart from this I'm having some other issues that might be related to this or not, I'm finding out...
And also I'm seriously considering to ditch the whole Arduino IDE and go for scons / arscons, but I guess similar access issues to the serial port would arise there ?

thanks,

J.

Re: arduino IDE serial issue

did not solve this, but it became irrelevant because I switched to scons.
No lock issues there (and it also solved the problem I had of the Arduino IDE not working well under the i3 window manager)

Used this version of the SConstruct file to make it work under Arch, though:

Re: arduino IDE serial issue

Had the same problem with my Arduino IDE, I'm sorry to be vague but the issue is with RX,TX. when you start the IDE from terminal you get and error. Incase the alternatives dont work out for you.
