Having problems after installation

Hello there, I just started using arch after a while big surprise for me the installation process has changed a bit so it was kind of hard for me to get back on track, anyway i just installed my system with xfce and installed the nvidia drivers but for some reason i couldn't change my resolution it was giving a max resolution of 1024x768 when in fact my resolution should be 1280x1024. Since i couldn't change it through the nvidia-settins i found a post with the following config for xorg.conf:

Section "Device"
    Identifier "DVI0"
    Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP-0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "UseEDID" "False"
    Option "UseEDIDFreqs" "False"
    Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "True"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck, NoEdidModes, NoMaxPClkCheck, NoVertRefreshCheck, NoHorizSyncCheck, NoEdidMaxPClkCheck"
    Option "NoLogo" "True"
    Option "DPI" "144 x 144"
EndSection

that helped to get the resolution i wanted but now my fonts look huge, if i go to appearance settings it has a font size set to 12 but it definitely looks bigger than that. I don't know what the problem might be.

I'll leave a screnshot here so you can see what I'm talking about, hopefully somebody can help me.
Thanks.

It appears to me that your gtk settings need some work. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gtk
