Since yesterdays (three weeks delayed) update I have faced multiple issues, the most buggy update I think I have had on arch ever.
Managed to fix seven of them, but pulseaudio keeps crashing and behaving weirdly. Most of the times, it just stops without any errors at all, but once or twice I got something like this:
david@dntb:~$ pulseaudio
E: [pulseaudio] bluetooth-util.c: org.bluez.Manager.GetProperties() failed: org.freedesktop.systemd1.LoadFailed: Unit dbus-org.bluez.service failed to load: No such file or directory.
E: [alsa-sink-ALC662 rev1 Analog] alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write!
E: [alsa-sink-ALC662 rev1 Analog] alsa-sink.c: Most likely this is a bug in the ALSA driver 'snd_hda_intel'. Please report this issue to the ALSA developers.
E: [alsa-sink-ALC662 rev1 Analog] alsa-sink.c: We were woken up with POLLOUT set -- however a subsequent snd_pcm_avail() returned 0 or another value < min_avail.
Sometimes when I launch pulse, I get sound from only one application, like in the bad olden days... Sometimes it works like nothing has happened. Then I launch flash for example and get audio only from flash or only from everything else than flash. Strange.
I am gonna do some testing with verbosity increased.

One of the reproducible causes seems to be pausing audio playback from the Guayadeque player.

Yes I have, but I do use it. Or at least tuxguitar. But pulse haven't crashed in a while now, it must have been a transient bug or something.

I'm having the exact same issues with pulse and it's driving me nuts. Has there been any news on this topic? Pulse just crashes and I can't figure out why. I, too, get the bluez and the snd_hda_intel messages when I look into the logs. But neither of them to be the definite cause. Most of the times the error occurs when I open pavu control, maybe also while playing flash, but not only. Pulse will also not respawn automatically after 5 seconds, although it says it will in pavucontrol.
Please help ![]()
[edit] just looked for fluidsynth, but the package is not found. I used
pacman -Qi fluidsynthLast edited by suluke (2013-11-09 13:15:19)

I've been getting random pulse crashes for months, usually either with wine or vlc. After trying every solution out there, I just learned to live with it.
Ryzen 5900X 12 core/24 thread - RTX 3090 FE 24 Gb, Asus B550-F Gaming MB, 128Gb Corsair DDR4, Cooler Master N300 chassis, 5 HD (2 NvME PCI, 4SSD) + 1 x optical.

I've been getting "random" pulse crashes for days now as well, it usually happens when I open up pavucontrol.
pavucontrol states that it has lost the connection and the PA will either restart itself or one has to restart it manually (via start-pulseaudio-x11).
Log via journalctl:
