No sound - Fresh Install

Hello,

For some reason I cannot get sound working at all on my laptop.
I have tried unmuting all channels with alsamixer yet still nothing.

The card I need to select to bring up the master volume control is HD-Audio Generic, if that helps.

What would really help is if you'd provide your settings. Without that information it's just speculation most likely.

Are using just alsa or pulseaudio?
Are you using some DE? Which one?
Post the output of 'amixer'.

I am using alsa.
I am using awesome WM.

Simple mixer control 'IEC958',0
  Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined
  Playback channels: Mono
  Mono: Playback [on]

Arch Linux
