Cinnamon: How to set keyboard layout options?

In Cinnamon 1.9 it was possible to tweak your keyboard layout (for example disable Caps Lock key).
I believe it was in Cinnamon Preferences > Regional Settings > Input Source, where you had to select your Keyboard layout and click on the little "Srewdriver/Wrench symbol" button.

Now in Cinnamon 2.0.2-1 this button is permanently greyed out.

What do I have to do to get access to these options?

have you had any luck with this? I am also searching for a solution. Did you try the mint forums?

Re: Cinnamon: How to set keyboard layout options?

I haven't had time to further investigate this.
It's most likely a dependency or configuration issue, so I will setup a new installation in a Virtual machine and go through all dependencies as listed on the github repos. If that fails a message on the Mint forums and/or upstream bug tracker will be in order.

Can you post a screenshot of the setting you are talking about?

Here is the screenshot. It only shows from where the window to customize things like Caps Lock and Esc could have been accessed from. I don't have a Gnome DE right now, so I cannot show where it led to. You find it in System Settings -> Regional Settings -> Input Sources (tab) -> That little button if you have Gnome or something that uses its System Settings thing to manage stuff. wink

I see what you mean now. I have the same greyed out button: http://i.imgur.com/3UNZqCx.png

Maybe you should address this issue upstream: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues

Re: Cinnamon: How to set keyboard layout options?

I had the same problem. previously (cinnamon 1.7-1.9 but not 2.0) i used that window to configure layout switching by ctrl-shift.
but i could find this setting via dconf-editor: org - cinnamon - settings-daemon - peripherals - keyboard - input-source-switcher (http://imgur.com/UqNqVc4), evertrhing seems fine for me now. may be options you need can be find somewhere in dconf?
