systemd fails to connect to dbus after a while

hello.

I dont know if this is the right subforum, couldnt find a better place to put this.

a while ago i started suffering from systemd (or dbus) hangs. where whatever action i try to do results in:

Failed to get D-Bus connection: Failed to connect to socket /run/systemd/private: Connection refused

this happens after a few hours of system runntime.
i cannot modify my wireless connection, suspend, reboot. etc etc. only the kernels alt-prnscrn-reisub reboots /safely/ RANT: way to go, one centralized managing tool /RANT

searching the web on how to debug this has not been helpful at all!

any help would be great!

thanks i.a

Tomas

I think you might need to retract your systemd rant there.

heh, rant still applies. centralized undebuggable software. manages /everything/ with no apparent advantage. and when it hangs, there is no plan-b to cleanly shutdown!

anyway, thanks a bunch for pointing in the right direction!

Have you tried to see if sysrq works? I'd say that as long as the kernel itself doesn't crash it should work.
