Hello,
I want to get mpv to use alsa:pcm audio output. mplayer2 works fine with the following config:
ao=alsa
mixer-channel=PCMFor mpv I have changed it to:
ao=alsa:mixer-name=PCMBut mpv still using it's "internal" volume scale. Is there anything else that I should add to my config?

I think they've made --softvol the default, so try setting softvol=no in the config file.

Thanks, that solved a couple of issues i had with audio and mpv.
Why the hell they did that, i wonder...

Actually, it appears that they even wrote about it in their changelist:
Make --softvol default (mpv is not a mixer control panel)

Yes, i missed it, but (and sorry for the OT),
keeping softvol active when you explicitely tell it you WANT to control the mixer seems so pointless to me...
In addition, softvol decreases the Signal to noise ratio and this could be even worse when that signal has to pass through pulseaudio too.
