[SOLVED] Browsing eats up CPU

Hi, I have a big problem with Arch Linux.
When I browse the web, sometimes my browser eats CPU and block my PC. I have to close rapidly the freshly opened tabs, not yet loaded, or restart if the PC is blocked.
Some sites, like FB, doesn't permit me to open more than a tab otherwise it blocks up my PC.

I installed Arch Linux on a old  x86 PC, even if Ubuntu version, which is installed before Arch, was i386.
My friend gave his less-old PC and I change HD into his PC and adapted Arch for the new PC.
The browser problem still occur.

I always used Firefox but now I use SWare Iron because it shows up alert "Would you close this tab because it isn't loading?".

Please help me, I'm desperate. I *do not want* to use another distro!

Re: [SOLVED] Browsing eats up CPU

What happens if you wait a couple seconds and let the browser finish loading the tab?

Anything interesting in the logs?
Do you run out of memory (RAM)?

Re: [SOLVED] Browsing eats up CPU

I can't wait loading because my PC freezes and I must reboot manually.

Where do I find the logs and what do I have to find in there?

I have 14 Gb of HD and 1 Gb of RAM in a Intel Pentium D CPU 3 GHz PC

Re: [SOLVED] Browsing eats up CPU

What graphics card do you have and what drivers do you have installed?
Logs are in /var/log . Check the systemd journal too.

1 GB RAM can be an issue: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/36574

Re: [SOLVED] Browsing eats up CPU

[airon@aironpc ~]$ lspci | grep VGA
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200/1100]

There's nothing interesting IMHO in /var/log.

I installed xf86-video-vesa, xf86-video-ati, mesa and ati-dri.

How can I use a faster swap device? I do not want to buy RAM.

thank you very much!

You can try zswap https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=169585

Don't open too many tabs in you browser and avoid websites with lots of javascript and multimedia.

Ok, I think I wait to buy another PC.
By now I use zswap and don't open sites like FB or YouTube.
Thank you karol
