[solved]Laptop battery stays at 0% and doesn't charge (but 99% in Win)

Hi there,

I've a problem with my ThinkPad T410. Since one of the last pacman updates KDE shows permanently 0% battery status and the values does not increase any more. If I boot into Windows 7, however, the battery status is at 99%, So I assume that it's a ACPI problem.

Here's some console output:

Re: [solved]Laptop battery stays at 0% and doesn't charge (but 99% in Win)

I had a very similar problem and it turned out that it was a problem where upower was incorrectly reporting the battery level when it was overfull - this has now been fixed in upower version 0.9.23-2 which was released to the repos yesterday. If you update you will likely find the issue is resolved?

It's solved, but not by upgrading upower (although it might be the cause because I updated that package some days ago). I don't know which package solved it, but it has to be one of these:

There were two upower updates - one was 0.9.23-1 and the one that really fixed it was 0.9.23-2

Re: [solved]Laptop battery stays at 0% and doesn't charge (but 99% in Win)

Yes, but I didn't install that one:

#tail -n 1000  /var/log/pacman.log | grep upower
[2013-10-20 22:10] [PACMAN] upgraded upower (0.9.20-2 -> 0.9.22-1)
[2013-10-31 12:23] [PACMAN] upgraded upower (0.9.22-1 -> 0.9.23-2)

Nice side effect of the upower upgrade: Resume in KDE, which was broken for some months, works again.

Thanks for your help.
