Arch 0.7.1 + Sound issue (SOLVED)

Hello,

It's my first install of Arch, am an ubuntu user, anyway I have a problem with my sound i don't know what's wrong unfortunately, i was searching the forum i saw some similar problems though the solution didnt work
When i click on the volume gnome-applet i get

No volume control elements and/or devices found.

[wael@nasreddine pacman.d]$ uname -r
2.6.15-ARCH

[wael@nasreddine pacman.d]$ hwdetect --show-modules

[wael@nasreddine pacman.d]$ lspci
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB AC'97 Audio (rev 03)

P.S: just an off-topic question, how to load ipw2200 with led=1, i mean

modprobe ipw2200 led=1

instead of

modprobe ipw2200

on Ubuntu wink i just put a file in /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200.modprobe with the below contents

[wael@nasreddine ~]$ cat /ubuntu/etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200.modprobe
options ipw2200 led=1

any help is appreciated
Thx

Re: Arch 0.7.1 + Sound issue (SOLVED)

If you plan to use alsa, have you installed it yet?  And have you run (as root) "alsaconf"?

Did you follow the advice given in the wiki to install and setup ALSA?

You're welcome... glad you are up and running!   8)

Lots of other good stuff under other subjects in wiki, too, so be sure to take a look around while you're there.
