error: failed to commit transaction (wrong or NULL argument passed)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

The weird thing is if I run pacman -S again the command will work as expected.

Re: [Solved] Consistent 'failed to commit transaction' errors

Turns out I was using only 2 mirrors which weren't updating regularly enough - added more mirrors and it seemed to help.
