I have problem 4 days in a row. I tried with mirror list change, last mirror list, tried also with various mirrors to put on top of list, from Germany, USA, Australia, France...none of them are working. When I try to do pacman -Syu , some of error that i got is:
error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from mirror.de.leaseweb.net : Resolving timed out after 10519 milliseconds
error: failed to update core (download library error)
error: failed retrieving file 'extra.db' from mirror.de.leaseweb.net : Resolving timed out after 10519 milliseconds
error: failed to update extra (download library error)

I tried also with deleting all cache from pacman cache folder, with *.part file.
Last night was working fine, but this morning again, same issue.

Try a different mirror.

That is the last mirror that is showing on Arch site that is the fastest. I tried with USA, Australia, France...same issue. Toooooo slow, < 1Kb/s. My internet connection works fine, hdd is fine...I really don`t know what could be the problem.

djomla, you'll need to give us some more info.
what ping-times do you get with those mirrors ?
What ping times do you get from other sites that do work ?
If you download files manually from those mirrors, do they give normal dowloadspeed ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Try a different download agent. Experiment with the "XferCommand" option in pacman.conf.

For example, thism orning :: Synchronizing package databases... went fine, but when it gets to the point where download should start, my download speed was bellow 1Kb/s:
error: failed retrieving file 'iana-etc-2.30-4-any.pkg.tar.xz' from mirror.de.leaseweb.net : Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 10 seconds---------------------------------------] 9%
warning: failed to retrieve some files
error: failed retrieving file 'youtube-dl-2013.11.21-1-any.pkg.tar.xz' from mirror.de.leaseweb.net : Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 10 seconds-------------------------------] 7%
warning: failed to retrieve some files
error: failed to commit transaction (download library error)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded. This is happening also when I change mirror.

You have to comment out mirror.de.leaseweb.net and try again.
Post the output of 'pacman -Syu --debug'.
Offline
But when I comment it out, It cannot update, because I`m using this mirror.
Output of --debug is too long and I cannot select it all, here it is last lines of it:
updating database
debug: adding database entry 'youtube-dl'
debug: writing youtube-dl-2013.11.21-1 DESC information back to db
debug: writing youtube-dl-2013.11.21-1 FILES information back to db
debug: adding entry 'youtube-dl' in 'local' cache
debug: running ldconfig
debug: executing "/usr/bin/ldconfig" under chroot "/"
debug: call to waitpid succeeded
debug: unregistering database 'local'
debug: freeing package cache for repository 'local'
debug: unregistering database 'core'
debug: freeing package cache for repository 'core'
debug: unregistering database 'extra'
debug: freeing package cache for repository 'extra'
debug: unregistering database 'community'
debug: freeing package cache for repository 'community'
debug: unregistering database 'multilib'
debug: freeing package cache for repository 'multilib'Offline
Try using a different mirror ...
Save the output to a file and post it here or upload it somewhere else and post a link.

Somehow it wont put all output into log or txt file, so I set up terminal to show thousands of line to scroll ![]()

And this is when I try to do Syy:

Are you using any XferCommand now?
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 7#p1115667
Offline
Following that thread, I found out that I don`t using any XferCommand, but there is .db.sig files into my /var/lib/pacman/sync/ directory. Followed post #23, I deleted those files, and after -Syy they came back again. So, I deleted them again and changed mirrors to Netherlands first in the list, and now it works fine. I just wonder if it going to be for good. Because this problem is appeared by itself, I have nothing changed into mirrors list.
Offline
Changing the mirrors was the solution to most such threads, some people said it went away w/o them doing anything.
Offline
i`ll mark this treat as solved, but if I got some other errors, is it OK to ask here again?
Offline
Yes, it's okay to ask again, but only if you have tried all the things you learnt this time ![]()
