A free FTP server to put your Arch repositorys into!

Hey everybody.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in an offer that I am willing to make:

Here at work we are connected to four internet providers (Pacific Net, Telstra, NTT (aka Verio) and AT&T) and I was wondering if anyone would like to have an FTP & HTTP server to upload all your newly created packages.

If you would, just PM me or email me (tim <at> wombatnet (dot) net) and ask me for it!

[[Server Specs]]
* Dual Intel Xeon @ 2.8GHz a peice
* 4 x 320GB Western Digital's in Raid 0+1
* Windows 2003
* Gene6 FTP Server
* Apache2 HTTP Server
* 25MB/s pipe to the outside world.

Oh, yeah, and you can get your own virtual domain.

[[Steps]]
1. Log into the FTP server with user name and password given
2. in /, create a folder called 'www'.
3. Upload you files
(You will have to tell me that you want a VD, so I can set it up on one of our servers.)

Seeing as this server has been donated to the Open Source Working Group at WombatNet, I will try to installarize it with Arch and Pro-FTPD ASAP.

Thanks Y'all

- Tim

(btw, please feel free to ask me for more info!)

P.S Oh, before I forget, please give me any ideas for a name for the .info domain that we will put the FTP/HTTP  server onto!

YAY!

how generous! thanks very much.

if possible, maybe you could mirror the official repository as well? that would be incredible. of course, that might take more resources than you originally had in mind. perhaps you can speak with Judd about that.

I will see what I can do. At the moment I am limited to 10GB of bandwidth.

So yeah, wink
