Fn keys slow Asus N53SN

Hi all,

I have some issues with my Asus N53SN and Arch latest. Since initial install (more than half a year ago) my Fn keys have slow reaction times. It takes more than one second to lower the volume, or change screen brightness. In the matter of fact, it may take up to 2 seconds to perform any action via Fn keys. I've tried xev and this is the output for decreasing screen brightness:

KeyRelease event, serial 78, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
    root 0x8e, subw 0x0, time 37517660, (92,26), root:(1299,490),
    state 0x10, keycode 232 (keysym 0x1008ff03, XF86MonBrightnessDown), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

Even xev has that 2 second delay from me pressing the keys to actually outputting text like one above.

Kernel: 3.12.0-1
Arch: x86_64

:edit:

I've tried Ubuntu 13.04 from live USB and it also has that delay.
