On ftp.archlinux.org mozilla-firefox 1.5-3 AND 1.5-2 are present, pacman -Syu installs 1.5-3 now.
On heanet.ie and belnet.be mirrors both pakackages are present, but pacman -Syu only finds the 1.5-2 package.
Does anyone have an idea what causes this ?

heanet.ie does not have the latest current.db.tar.gz - it hasn't been mirrored yet. The file on ftp.archlinux.org is stamped 14/01/06 09:00, and heanet's last rsync was done sometime before that, so we have to wait for their next rsync to get back in sync.
I expect belnet's situation is similar.

I prefer to use ftp://ftp.hosteurope.de/. It is fast and up to date. Delay of sync is very small.

Same issue there, Annette - at the moment anyway.

I use hosteurope, too. While typing this letters, I see pacman -Syu fetches me firefox 1.5-3. Sometimes you should just wait a bit, until mirrors are syncronized. It is cind of shizophrenic to use a mirror, if you can't wait until it is updated.

Yes, both mirrors now give the right version.
I am willing to wait for mirrors to sync, but when i saw they did have the new package i assumed they had been synced already and i could use it at that time.
Now i know and understand having a package present on the mirror doesn't necessarily mean it is usable yet.
ONLY after everything is synchronised, including the xxx.db.tar.gz-file, the mirror is fully uptodate.

belnet also had some sync problem last month (actually: it stopped syncing on 7/11/05) . but I mailed them a week ago, and the day after I sent that mail the sync is working again ;-)
They must have done something wrong in their config...
