@dlh  we need specifics...what is your problem that you want to fix?
is this config not working? where does it take you and where do you want to go?

There are at least two threads about grub errors, have you read them?

Re: [SOLVED] Generated grub file contains syntax error

Well the errors show up when:

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Generating grub configuration file ...
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-linux-ck
Found initrd image: /boot/initramfs-linux-ck.img
Found Windows 8 (loader) on /dev/sda1
error: out of memory.
error: syntax error.
error: Incorrect command.
error: syntax error.
Syntax error at line 159
Syntax errors are detected in generated GRUB config file.
Ensure that there are no errors in /etc/default/grub
and /etc/grub.d/* files or please file a bug report with
/boot/grub/grub.cfg.new file attached.done

So did you search the forum and read, as karol suggested? There is a solution in one of the topics.

Re: [SOLVED] Generated grub file contains syntax error

OK, I found the solution:
GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU=y

I thought my problem is somehow special, but I was mistaken
