Steam bootstrapper appears broken.

I tried to launch a game, the play buttons cease working. I exit steam and start it up again to discover this error erupting from the terminal.

Running Steam on arch 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0_client)
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0"
after 19 requests (19 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
ILocalize::AddFile() failed to load file "public/steambootstrapper_english.txt".
[2013-12-10 01:00:19] Startup - updater built Nov 25 2013 18:07:05
mv: cannot stat ‘/home/tom/.steam/registry.vdf’: No such file or directory
Installing bootstrap /home/tom/.local/share/Steam/bootstrap.tar.xz
Reset complete!
Restarting Steam by request...
Running Steam on arch 64-bit

tried reinstalling and also --reset. The reset option was interesting because of this output:

mv: cannot stat ‘/home/tom/.steam/registry.vdf’: No such file or directory
Installing bootstrap /home/tom/.local/share/Steam/bootstrap.tar.xz
Reset complete!

Thanks for any help guys. For what it's work, I am running a 7850 w/ latest AMD catalyst drivers from the unoffiecial repository.

Re: Steam bootstrapper appears broken.

What happens when you do an ls in "public"? Steam is saything that it is failing on "public/steambootstrapper_english.txt" which should be in ".local/share/Steam".

Have you tried running with "STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam"? You'll need to install any missing libs. There's more info about it here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … ve_runtime. (I don't think this will help your issue but it may be interesting to see if you get different output.)
