Firefox plugins aren't working after upgrade to 1.5

Like the title says, my plugins are now failing to work.
The ones I'm having trouble with are flash, mplayer and acroread. I wouldn't be surprised if Java doesn't work, either, although I haven't tested yet.

They all worked before upgrading from 1.0.7, but now none of them are. I've tried reinstalling both the Macromedia and Arch flashplugin files, but neither work properly. The sound comes up, but nothing on screen. As for mplayer, it won't show embedded videos. With acroread, it'll take an age to load, then fails, only displaying "(untitled)" in the tab, and a blank screen.

Any suggestions?

try renaming your firefox profile in ~./mozilla/firefox/<insert apparently random characters here> and then installing the extensions again. That's whats worked for me in the past with similar issues.

I never feel totally comfortable "upgrading" either, Firefox or Thunderbird, so usually pacman -R both of them and then fetch a copy of my bookmarks file before deleting the .mozilla, and .thunderbird directories.

Doing that, and then fresh-installing both apps and setting them up from scratch usually allows everything to work properly for me.
