3.12.5-1 not booting with gummiboot

I had upgraded my system with the latest kernel(3.12.5-1) and latest gummiboot(3.9-1)

pacman.log indicated that the installation was successful, however kernel was not booting.

journalctl was unable to capture anything because the boot sequence itself was not initiated.

When downgrading the kernel, things seem fine.

Works fine here. See the other threads where this bug bites people indiscriminately. It's been going on since around 3.7 IIRC.
