rt2800usb, issue with high traffic.

Does anyone else face the following issue with rt2800 based cards?

yep...

$ uname -r

While scp'ing a large file via wireless does seem more "sluggish" than normal, I can't do a valid comparison because while the wireless usb dongle is my trusty old one, I just recently installed a brand new motherboard.

I started poking around in the driver code and found the spots where those messages are produced, but I'm too tired to chase this down right now. Maybe later.

[Edit to add...]
I just remembered that the wireless USB dongle is plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but have no idea (at the moment) if this makes a difference.

Re: rt2800usb, issue with high traffic.

Please, report that you face the problem to the bug report above.

I also had a poke to the code and change some delay functions (as suggested by others). It only stopped the frequent messages to the log.

Re: rt2800usb, issue with high traffic.

confirmed (both here and in the kernel bugzilla) for
ID 148f:3572 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT3572 Wireless Adapter
but it happens even with another different Ralink USB NIC.

It doesn't seem to be related to the USB 3.0 port because it happens to me while connected to an USB 2.0 port.
