Grub will only display to the laptop monitor, and not to the external

My laptop screen broke a little bit ago, and now if I want to change OS's, it's a blind guess.
After I enter an OS, the external monitor (on the vga port) will turn on and everything goes swimmingly.
However, I kinda need grub to show on my screen. I know nothing about grub and its configuration, so any help here would be... helpful.
Any info you need I can provide, I just don't know what to provide.

Re: Grub will only display to the laptop monitor, and not to the external

First thing comes to my mind is to change display properties from bios. From internal to external.
However if you are not able manage properties from bios since the laptop display is broken,
you could try somehow removing the laptop display physically. But it depends on your bios configuration
that it will automaticly identify the external monitor without the internal one attached or not.

If you provide the bios version and the laptop details maybe I can help you more.
