Intel HD Graphics Not Detected While Using NVidia Card in Laptop

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

My laptop has an NVidia GeForce GTX 765M in it, in addition to a Intel Core i7-4900MQ with Intel HD Graphics 4600 in it. I am currently using the nvidia package for the NVidia card, but I want to set up Bumblebee so I can save battery life. I tried following the instructions in the wiki to set up Bumblebee, but when I tried to start the Bumblebee Daemon, I only got:

[ERROR]No integrated video card found, quitting

Here is the output of lspci | grep VGA:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK106M [GeForce GTX 765M] (rev a1)

I do not know why my integrated video card is not detected. Am I doing something wrong? Does my hardware need special support for Bumblebee? How can I fix this problem?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Intel HD Graphics Not Detected While Using NVidia Card in Laptop

Does your machine BIOS allow you to turn off/on the nVidia card as being the ONLY discreet card in the system? My system doesn't, but some of these Intel/nVidia setups do. Maybe you have the nVidia card set as the "only" card allowed for use in your BIOS?

Also, you have to have both the nVidia AND Intel drivers for both cards to work. The Arch Wiki was pretty good about helping set up Bumblebee when I set mine up. Maybe there is a nugget of information to help in the Wiki?

Sorry I can't be more help than that ATM.

Thanks for the reply.

No, my BIOS doesn't have that option. I have the intel-dri and xf86-video-intel drivers installed, do I have to install anything else?

Re: Intel HD Graphics Not Detected While Using NVidia Card in Laptop

The fact (my error) is that nvidia module is not loaded properly.
If you try

modprobe nvidia

should give you an error.
In this case you've just to recompile nvidia package for your kernel.
If you've yaourt just do:

yaourt -Sb nvidia

Or just follow NVIDIA install instructions for custom kernels on the wiki.
Then reboot and everything should work fine.

Hmmm... Now I get:

[ERROR]No integrated video card found, quitting

That happens both before and after trying what you said.
