[SOLVED]Hardware Hang and core lock caused by FGLRX

Very recently I've started getting hardware hangs caused in the FGLRX kernel module. dmesg log with call trace: http://paste.pm/cm4.txt
This is causing Xorg to crash, and the core its running on completely locks up, claiming 100% cpu and Xorg isn't responding to anything, the only fix is rebooting my desktop.

I originally had been having these hangs with a very specific case, while trying to play kerbal space program(which is fine, I'm not surprised) but its suddenly started happening a lot more often with other cases (dmesg is showing chrome segfaulting, this is shortly after I open a webpage, eg google, com)

At this point pretty much anything using anything remotely graphical will crash the system.
I don't believe there is any hardware problem, mint and windows are both unaffected.

I've tried downgrading the kernel, catalyst, xorg and window manager all back to when they worked fine together, but it was still occurring oddly.
I'm about to start a complete reinstall of the system now, but I am expecting the issue to persist. If it doesn't I'd quite like a clue to what the problem is.

Hardware info report: http://lutzee.net/hardinfo_report.html (this is an old one, the only thing that has changed in the info would be kernel version, which I've been swapping out for versions listed there anyway)

Re: [SOLVED]Hardware Hang and core lock caused by FGLRX

Update, so I completely stripped out xorg, i3wm, catalyst, reloaded the latest kernel, rebooted, removed any extra files that got left behind, rebooted, installed xorg, catalyst and i3 again and suddenly its all fine.. but I don't class the problem as solved, because I don't know what caused it, but for now its fixed..
