2.6-2 problems

I installed kernel 2.6.2 tonight and when I rebooted the system wouldn't boot. I get an error saying

Uncompressing Linux...

invalid compressed format (err=1)

-- System halted

I can get 2.4 to work but I can't figure this out.

do you use lilo?

if so you forgot to run it after installing the kernel.

you will have to use your install cd to chroot into your arch root and run lilo.

there's no need to chroot, all you have to do is at the prompt of arch instalation cd write : vmlinuz root=/dev/path/to/your/arch/instalation
it's that easy
