metapixel : errors in all images

hi to all, i've installed metapixel but when i launch:

metapixel-prepare -r '/home/user/Desktop/foto1' /home/user/Desktop/prepared --width=32 --height=32

it gives me on ALL images (png || jpg) this error:

libpng error: Invalid palette
metapixel: rwpng.c:199: open_png_file_writing: Assertion `0' failed.
Error running metapixel - skipping file /home/user/Desktop/foto1/a.jpg

and so it creates in prepared folder an empty tables.mxt and a png of 0 Bytes

what do you think?

I have the same issue, reading the source it seems it either cannot determine the source-format; or has issues converting a jpeg to the default format (which seems to be png)
