I tried this on the WineHQ forums but got no help (it looks like there is only one guy who answers all the questions.)
I am trying to install CS:GO in wine in steam and am getting this error "Your graphics hardware does not support all features (CSM) required to run this game."
OS:Arch Linux x64 kernel version 3.12.6
Wine version: 1.7.9 (I have tried a few others too)
Hardware: Radeon HD 7790, 8GB DDR3 RAM, AMD A10-5800k.
Driver: Vi0L0's latest FGLRX diver
I searched for hours and tried many different things and nothing worked.
I did see a few posts on random websites about editing your wine registry to spoof your GPU name but I saw no information on how to do that.
Does anyone have any idea how to spoof your GPU model and vendor ID? or does anyone know a way around this without having to mess around in the registry?

I had the same problem. You have to go into the registry and trick it into thinking you have an nvidia card.

Do something along those lines

Thank you so much hibajugala that got it to work but now whenever I press any key it crashes the game.
I am using a standard wired Mechanical keyboard, if anyone knows anything about this issue I would really appreciate and answer.

Do other steam (wine) games work for you, without the GPU spoofing?

I tried killing floor just now with the GPU spoofing and everything worked fine. So I guess it is just a CS:GO issue.

Hello.
I had the same problem until I installed steam using winetricks.
What you need to do is disable Steam overlay. The safest way I found(thanks to winetricks) was to disable *gameoverlayrenderer in winecfg, like this:
