Motherboard: Intel D2700DC
Monitor: Asus VS228H
Intel Integrated Graphics
Archboot 20131001
Archboot proceeds fine until roughly the "Starting Login Service" line, at which point the screen goes blank. The command prompt appears to be functional, since running the "reboot" command works.
Here's what I have tried so far:
Connecting via DVI and HDMI
Enabling/Disabling UEFI boot in the BIOS.
nomodeset
i915.modeset=0
video=SVIDEO-1:d
At this point I'm fairly stumped as to what is going wrong. Anyone have advice?

Sounds like a kernel bug.
I'll prepare an october version soon with a newer kernel, perhaps it's fixed then.
You could try blacklisting the i915 module from boot commandline.

I tried adding modprobe.blacklist=i915 to the kernel line, but to no success.

Another idea, could it be that the screen just blacks down, try to set the brightness higher, could be that acpi turns down the backlight to maximum.

It looks like adding "video=LVDS-1:d" to the boot options fixes the issue.

Thanks, this trick worked for a DN2800MT motherboard.
One of the main causes of the fall of the Roman Empire was that, lacking zero,
they had no way to indicate successful termination of their C programs.

I second this for the ASRock AD2550-ITX motherboard with a dual core Intel Atom. Thanks Apes .
