Can't play CD's with xmms

I cannot play CD's with xmms.  My regular user account is a member of audio and optical as recommended by the Arch FAQ.  I also checked the xmms preferences.  I had to make onbe change for the CD Audio Plugin.  The default setting is /dev/cd.  I changed it to /dev/cdrom.  I also clicked on Check Drive.  xmms recognized my Audio CD, showed the right number of tracks etc.  All looks okay.

But when I try to play a CD.  I get the following error:

Re: Can't play CD's with xmms

I got it to work!  I didn't realize when I was trying to play a CD, xmms was looking in /dev/cdrom.  To get xmms to play a CD, you must right click, select Play File, and navigate to the /mnt/cdrom directory.  Then you can selecct one of the .cda files and click play.

I do not know why xmms was first looking in /dev directory.  Strange.

Anyway, it works fine now.
