Sound on HP dv7t

I have searched everywhere 3 times over several months now, and I haven't been able to solve this problem.

This HP dv7t has a beatsaudio soundcard (hda intel) [IDT 92HD91BXX] which has 5 speakers: 2 below screen, two on deck (regular), and one subwoofer. Of course, they work fine on Windows. People who install Ubuntu on this model have difficulty making all the speakers work, but there exist various solutions. None of those solutions work for Arch.

The two regular speakers on deck work. The screen speakers and subwoofer do not.

I have gone from Alsa to PulseAudio to hda-jack-retask and back, and no combination awakens these speakers.

Ubuntu can do it. *What is my arch system missing that Ubuntu isn't?*

I am posting here not because I expect to find a solution, but to find anyone else who has a stake in the resolution to this problem, because there must be others.

If anyone has any information that might help, I would be glad to hear it. I have no leads again.

Re: Sound on HP dv7t

I got my system working with this guide.

Basically install the alsa-tools package, open a Window Manager of your choice and run

sudo hdajackretask

After that i had to click "show unconnected pins", and "advanced override".

Step1: Override 0x0f set connectivity to internal and location to internal display (<- im not sure if this really has any effect, but i do it anyways)
Step2: Override 0x10 set connectivity to internal, location to internal riser, make sure channel group is same as 0x0f (should be 5) and set channel to Center/LFE.
Step3: Override 0x0d to connectivity internal, location internal and channel to front

Apply, and test, then if it works install boot override. This basically works well.

I get a much "deeper" sound in linux than i do in windows, but if i dislike that i can enable loopback in the alsamixer, i'm not sure what the loopback option does though, but it feels like it increases the volume on the speakers under the display and reduces the volume on the other speakers, disabling it gives a much (like i said) "deeper" sound. I'm guessing it'd be a good idea to use an equalizer.
