No 64-bit install option

Hello.  I'm attempting to practice install Arch on VirtualBox before installing it on my desktop.  However, when I run the install iso, I only get the option to boot i686, and when I check for the flag that indicates that the system is 64 bit, it isn't there.  I should mention my Windows 7 install, which is my base system, is 64 bit, and I have installed 64 bit operating systems as VMs before on this operating system.  I have a 64 bit CentOS right now.

What can I do to get a 64 bit installation on VirtualBox?  I want my install on my desktop to be 64 bit.

Re: No 64-bit install option

I made this mistake not too long ago in VirtualBox. When creating your virtual machine you are asked to choose an OS from a drop-down list. If you want a 64-bit system, you must be sure to select the 64-bit version. For example, choose "Windows 64-bit" instead of just "Windows". Otherwise you will end up with a 32-bit virtual machine. This may not apply to you, but it stumped me for a while and I felt really stupid when I went back and found that I forgot to select the 64-bit version of the OS I wanted. Hope that helps.

Haha that's it!  I do feel pretty dumb.  Thanks so much.
