Can't start Gnome...after upgrade

Hi,

I just upgraded gdm, and now I can't start gnome.

After reboot it just ends up with terminal login.

What changed?

EDIT: I just saw this thread http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=18170

I'm going to try it to see if it works

TIP: Try typing 'startx' at your prompt (use terminal to login).  Works alright for me, and I've got the same problem with gdm.

Note that you need your /home/<user>/.xinitrc' updated for gnome:

exec dbus-launch gnome-session

with the other 'exec' statements commented-out (e.g.):

# exec wmaker

I'm gonna try -R gdm and -S gdm... maybe we'll get lucky.

Hi,

Well I also tryed that. No luck 

After that I did a fresh install. Same problem  :cry:

Gdm seems messed up after the upgrade.

I had the same problem so I ended up downgrading gdm:

# pacman -R gdm
# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gdm-2.8.0.7-1.pkg.tar.gz

Thereafter everything worked fine again.

Now, how do I edit may pacman.conf to stop updating gdm ?
