login problems, pam-related

Hello and good evening,

I'm quite a noob with arch but have some linux background coming from debian sid.
I recently installed arch on my desktop machine and didn't have any problems I wasn't able to solve with help of the wiki and some tinkering.

So I decided to give it a try on a netbook laying around. Basic setup worked like a charm, but I'm not able to solve that one pam-issue.

I tried lightdm, gdm and lxdm, all of them refusing to login any user.

systemctl -l status lxdm
[..] pam_unix(lxdm:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty= ruser= rhost= user=user1391

login into xfce4 manually via

startxfce4

and opening a terminal, typing

su anyuser

also doesn't work.

Any idea?
also refuses login

[Edit]
Solved it. I've been rather stupid. I'm using the keymap de-latin1-nodeadkeys, which obviously didn't apply to X and lxdm, combined with a password containing z...
