[Solved] Skype and libdbus

Hello!

I haven't remarked it right at the moment, but some updates ago, skype seems to have been broken.
I get:

/usr/lib32/skype/skype: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

There has been a Skype-Update on 29th January (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … 686/skype/) and several libdbus-Updates (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/lib32-libdbus/ , https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/i686/libdbus/ , https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/libdbus/ ).

Anybody any idea on what I can do to fix/debug this?

Thanks,
Guntram

Hello jasonwryan!

What is this supposed to say? I'm all up-to-date with my packages...

Re: [Solved] Skype and libdbus

I believe that Skype is a 32-bit program, so you probably need lib32-libdbus. Do you have it installed? If so, what version?

Re: [Solved] Skype and libdbus

Ah - okay. Had to install multilib/lib32-libdbus. Wondering, why the last version of Skype wasn't affected and this dependency not integrated into the package...

Thanks!

Re: [Solved] Skype and libdbus

If you think you've found a packaging error (e.g. the maintainer has missed a dependency), please open a bug report so that the maintainer knows about it.
