How to OC RAM on a Lenovo G505s

I have a Lenovo G505s (which is an APU laptop), and I noticed that all of the hardware utilities report that the RAM is DDR3 800 (APUs are really sensitive to RAM speed), so I got some DDR3 1600 RAM, and the utilities still report DDR3 800 RAM speeds. I cannot check or modify the RAM speed in the BIOS because Lenovo thought it would be funny to strip their BIOS of any useful hardware features that could be used to fix this sort of thing.

Are there any Linux utilities available that are capable of OCing the RAM to it's stock speeds.

Are you sure you are not confusing MHz with MT/s ?

hwinfo, dmidecode, and AMDOverdriveCtrl all report that that the RAM is clocked at 800 MHz, hwinfo and dmidecode report the RAM speed correctly on my other machines. The tools may be reporting the actual clock frequency instead of the number of transfers, but I have no way to check. Maybe a RAM benchmark would shed some light on the actual speed without relying on the BIOS to provide accurate information.

Re: How to OC RAM on a Lenovo G505s

SOLVED (sort of): the AMD conttrol center reports the RAM bandwidth as 25.6GB/s, which means everything is working properly.

I would like more control over my hardware, but this specific item is not an issue. Now to figure out how to gain access to the sensors, clock cycles and voltages (AMD overdrive has been denied acsess to most of the stuff it needs to do it's job).
