Hello everybody.
After having spent the last year Internet-less in a remote location I've returned to the 'civilised' world. It's good to be back!
Perfect timing to get myself a new laptop - first brand new computer in 12 years ... very exciting. It's a cutom built machine with the new Intel Wireless-N 7260 plus Bluetooth wifi card.
Since kernel 3.11 my wireless is functioning beautifully, but the bluetooth module doesn't seem to working quite yet. I couldn't find any specifics on how far the bluetooth module in that particular chipset is supported yet, so maybe someone can enlighten me.
Weirdly though, I get the following outputs:
# hciconfig
hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB
BD Address: 0C:8B:FD:2A:5E:85 ACL MTU: 1021:5 SCO MTU: 96:5
DOWN
RX bytes:938 acl:0 sco:0 events:91 errors:0
TX bytes:13238 acl:0 sco:0 commands:90 errors:0
# rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: hci0: Bluetooth

# hcitool dev
Devices:
# hcitool scan
Device is not available: No such device
$ lspci
...
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev 73)
...
Seems kind of contradictory to me. If anyone could point me in the right direction as to where (what) I should be looking (for)?
Much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi JackH79,
While it might not be the same problem, my Intel wireless+bt (different model than yours - N 2230) shows similar symptoms on linux kernel 3.11.x
I managed to get the bluetooth working again after resume with a bluetoothctl command, connect [BT mac], basically:
$ bluetoothctl -a
[bluetooth]# connect [BT mac]
(as I noted somewhere down in my post here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p1336196 )
It would be great if you could test this on your system and see if it works.
Regards

I have the AC 7260 and was having the same problems as you. This brought the device online:
# hciconfig hci0 up
# systemctl bluetooth.service start
Thanks ilsensine.

I find with my AC-7260, I can't reboot.
If I reboot, my bluetooth never works until I shut it down completely. I have no idea why, and the fact that it works to just not reboot, I haven't really bothered to look into it. This is Linux, it's not like a reboot very often.

Reading some posts on Intel's site indicating a possible power management issue with the card. I have the same card and bluetooth is spotty at best, most times does not work at all. So much for the 'Just works" feature of 4.0.
Solution is to disable power management for the card - I do not know how to resolve that issue yet.
