Saving mixer levels - xfce4

I am used to using alsamixer and alsactl for setting levels and saving them. When I run KDE my levels have been saved, but my default desktop is xfce4 and everytime I go in I have to reset levels as they are not retained from the previous session. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Saving mixer levels - xfce4

basically
install alsa-utils and add alsa to your daemons entry in rc.conf
