[SOLVED] Laptop hangs on booting usb-stick
I boot as normally, but screen shows only blinking cursor and flash drive blinking too, but it seems that it will last forever. If I pull stick out there is a message "Operating system load error.
Tried different distributions (archlinux, archbang), different methods of writing usb (ultraiso bootable, unetbootin, linux live creator), but nothing changes. Searched for various usb settings on bios, but there is no one.
Wanna restore my boot section after installing w7 on separate partition.

Write the USB with dd.
If that gives the same result, post some information about your hardware and boot setup (MBR, GPT etc).

Laptop - Asus 1025c, last time I boot from sticks - year ago, with unetbootin.
Stick doesn't boot from different pc.
omfg, I can't even boot from virtualbox (from different pc) - after selecting "Boot arch linux" virtual PC just hangs with non-blinking cursor at the top-left (no hdd or cd-drive are used). Checked archwiki page for installing from virtualbox, checked hash of torrent (actual torrent file from archlinux.org download page), md5 hash, played with different virtualbox settings. So I can't write image with dd.
Everything starts going wrong after installing windows :-/

It seems that problem was in usb-stick, I put old iso on another stick, and It booted normally. Its strange, because I format flash and I never had any problems with it (and boot from it too).

I had a similar issue with USB stick I ended up using "image writer" for windows it worked perfectly, I have found that some setting for the arch ISO and settings of several of the alternative (Lilo, Rufus, unetbootin, multi-system), conflict with each other. There are some work arounds listed in the forums. Good luck hope this helps.
