Errors within Virtual Machine Manager (virt-manager)

Hello people, I am new to the forum, So a friendly hello is in order via me, Hello!

Anyways I have an issue, I am trying to install QEMU/Kvm virtual machines on my Arch Linux install, but I am presented with multiple errors. I will link below

Error 1 -

The emulator may not have search permissions for the path '/run/media/xdroidie626/337D12361F8F1816/Windows'.

This is after the point where you decide on storage size and if you wish to allocate now, I have selected Allocate now and then am presented with the error above, It asks me to correct this error, So I select yes.

Error 2 -

/run/media/xdroidie626/337D12361F8F1816 : Permissions on '/run/media/xdroidie626/337D12361F8F1816' did not stick.

This is what follows that message above, I understand it is linked to the permissions on what is my 2nd drive, But is this an SELinux error?

Error 3 -

Unable to complete install: 'internal error: process exited while connecting to monitor: qemu-system-x86_64: -drive file=/run/media/xdroidie626/337D12361F8F1816/Windows,if=none,id=drive-ide0-0-0,format=raw: could not open disk image /run/media/xdroidie626/337D12361F8F1816/Windows: Could not open '/run/media/xdroidie626/337D12361F8F1816/Windows': Permission denied

I am then shown this error, Now I dont understand half of this, I havent a clue what it means so I was hoping someone on here could help a noob out, I have tried changing permissions to the drive and still nothing, I have followed the guide on the Arch forums, and still nothing, All I want it for is to play games.

The reason why I picked QEMU/Kvm over bare metal is the fact I hear KVM can fool the system into believing you have more power than you actually do, So more free performance is always welcome, Also its much safer to run Windows in a VM than bare metal.

I am trying to install Windows 8 Pro x64bit onto the drive in question also, Spec below for my system if that is any help to you.

Core i5 2500 3.3Ghz
8GB Corsair 1600Mhz RAM
G1 Sniper M3 Mobo
AMD HD 6870 GPU
Samsung 840 Evo SSD 120GB (Arch drive)
Seagate 500GB 7200.12RPM drive

Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Errors within Virtual Machine Manager (virt-manager)

Welcome to the forums!

First of all, qemu is a tool that uses kvm and is run from the command line.  What you are using is a front end for it that does some extra magic.  So I think you should really be specifying this as virt-manager.  You should probably fix your title.

Second, you need to learn how to use code and quote tags for much of your post there (namely the error output).  To see how to do this, you can follow the BBCode link below.

Third, please don't put things like 'HELP!' in your title (or thread for that matter).  You are posting here and that in itself signifies that you are seeking help.  You don't need to scream it in your thread title.  For a number of forum members, this is such an annoyance that they won't even read your post.  Please fix your title.

As for your issue, I have no idea sorry.  But hopefully you can be pointed in the right direction by someone more familiar with virt-manager.
