Fony-Pi-Time

Hello Archers,

Have a Pi for a while, and since the thing is without a clock, your always thrown into 1970, the first second of the first day UNIX time started, called epoch.

Now I sometimes switch to closed LAN, if I reboot it's 1970, again.   To prevent this happening without having to buy a system clock from FI:adafruit, I created a 'Fony clock', a very simple 2 script solution.

It is no clock at all, but it saves the last system time, and restores is on reboot.,  If Internet is working, NTPD will adjust the system time afterwards

Hope I make someone happy with it, because it was bothering me after a while getting messages like 'that file is in the future', with this script that didn't happen no more.

The files are on github

No, I didn't try, I would have if I knew it was there, I didn't even look, thought it wouldn't be there, I misjudged....

Xyne's is easier, mine is simpler, I don't know if I could break something the way I do, but I guess not, and it works.
