Kde 3.2 problem

Im trying to install kde3.2 ( i had 3.1 installed before)
so i read the news and it said to either force it to install overtop or remove kde 3.1 completly, so i completly uninstalled kde 3.1 and installed 3.2 without a problem, but now, i get a
kicker: relocation error: /opt/kde/lib/libkdeui.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZN13QSplashScreen15mousePressEventEP11QMouseEvent

replace kicker with any kde application (ie, kdeinit)
kde 3.2 does not load for me because of this error.

woops  roll
which critial base packages are you using?
- kernel

etc

guess the packages is built on a system which delivers incompatible binairies to your runnig system.

Re: Kde 3.2 problem

Kernel -2.6.0
Gcc - 3.3
and im not sure which glibc but since arch release 0.5
ill do a system wide upgrade now maybe that will fix the problem?
edit: i try a pacman -Suyf and it asks me one by one if i want to replace shutils with coreutils from current etc etc..says
fontconfig conflicts with xfre86.. remove xfree86? and i cant remove xfree

is there another way to update my system, system wide?
i also updated gcc and glibc to current

Re: Kde 3.2 problem

your system is very out of date. upgrade pacman itself as well then hit the archived news articles on the homepage so you know how to upgrade xfree86. all of your answers for upgrading from the old 0.5 discs is covered through the various news articles.
