Firefox Error after update to 27.0

My problem is after updating firefox to the current version 27.0, firefox simply doesn't open; Here is what shows up in terminal:

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so:
/usr/lib/libnss3.so: version `NSS_3.15.4' not found (required by /usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so)
Couldn't load XPCOM.

Frankly I updated firefox package only not the whole system; and /usr/lib/libnss3.so does exist but an older version; so using pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libnss3.so; the result is

/usr/lib/libnss3.so is owned by nss 3.15.3.1-1

So if it requires 3.15.4; how to update this lib, I mean without upgrading the whole system

Re: Firefox Error after update to 27.0

You can't. Partial upgrades are unsupported.

Whatever reason you are using to rationalise not doing -Syu is wrong. Update your whole system.

Moving to NC...

Re: Firefox Error after update to 27.0

What has happened is that you had a  (probably manually) previously installed version of firefox installed. You should have the correct version of libnss3.so in /usr/lib.
Take a look at /usr/lib/firefox/ and see if there is a copy of libnss3.so there. It will be the old version. Delete it and the problem should go away.
