Random disconnects on ASUS N13-USB (RTL8192CU)

I've bought an ASUS N13-USB to make for the busted wireless adapter (and until I can get my computer built, which will have a PCI adapter). I use netctl to connect to my wireless router in my own home.
I've been experiencing random disconnections throughout its use. As far as I know, this only happens on Linux; it works fine on Windows (using Asus drivers) and Mac OS X (using Realtek drivers).

I will be willing to give more information when needed.

I also had very weak wifi signals with this wifi usb dongle.

The driver rtl8192cu built-in to linux needs to be updated, but the latest one available from RealTek has compilation errors when built under the latest linux. These errors are fixed in the AUR dkms-8192cu package.
