[Solved]Another package manager running error

Whenever I try to use pacman, for updating and installing new packages, it gives me this error:

:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed to update core (unable to lock database)
error: failed to update extra (unable to lock database)
error: failed to update community (unable to lock database)
error: failed to update multilib (unable to lock database)
error: failed to synchronize any databases
error: failed to init transaction (unable to lock database)
error: could not lock database: File exists
  if you're sure a package manager is not already
  running, you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck

I deleted the contents of that file, (which was only a 3 digit number), but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: [Solved]Another package manager running error

It doesn't say to delete the contents of the file, it says to remove the file

Glad you got it worked out. Please remember to add [Solved] to the beginning of your thread title.

All the best,
