Firefox, HTML5, fullscreen video and screensaver

Hi!

With the arrival of HTML5 <video> tag and big firms using it, I'm glad to finally get rid of the Flash crap.
But am I the only one having the screensaver/blackscreen fade even though I play an HTML5 video in fullscreen?
Is there an option to disable this?

Edit> I'm using GNOME.

Cheers!

Re: Firefox, HTML5, fullscreen video and screensaver

This is what I could find out in less than twenty seconds with two queries on a major crawler:

"firefox prevent screensaver during html5 video gnome"
"chromium prevent screensaver during html5 video gnome"

Ok go complain on DuckDuckGo if you like, but I *did* some search for half an hour before posting here.
I tried with exactly the words in this thread subject.
I'm not just pouring my problems here...

So... Did you fix the problem by reading those links? What have you tried? What worked? Is this thread solved? Why is it raining so much today?

If you want to avoid being patronized about the good old STFW and RTFM, at least state what you tried. But you should really click that third link.

Re: Firefox, HTML5, fullscreen video and screensaver

The third link is a year old. It has certainly fixed something at the time, but the problem reappeared recently (GNOME 3.10 apparently).
I didn't find a fix for this problem yet. And apparently nobody did.

PS: During my searches, I found a workaround for the full-screen freeze problem with Flash though: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Br … or_GNOME_3
